Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true. |

Introducing The First Foal of 2008
AKA BARBERRY

Just happy
being donkeys!

Most
websites only have pictures of nice, clean, well groomed
donkeys. This however, is a picture of several of the
AKA jennets during the great March Michigan Meltdown!
They do
clean up pretty well though......... |

The following is a wonderful update from Colleen
Guyer of Rexford, NY. The Guyer's purchased AKA Clayton from us in
July where he went to join AKA Uncle Clyde already at their NY farm.
The also adopted TPDR Norman from
www.turningpointedonkeyrescue.com
Thanks for sharing these photos of your
beautiful daughter and your very happy looking equines with us!! We
just love to read and see updates about our former donkeys! Sharon,
I hope all is good in Michigan. Here in NY we are getting ready for
the fall and it is such a bummer because that means the snow will be
here and no more night moon gazing w/the donkeys and Scout in my lawn
chair. My 16yr old niece says, I make out with Norman when Jim is not
looking. What can I say, Norman and I have a special thing going on
and I just hope it lasts forever.
My vet says Norman is the only donkey that he knows that sits in a
lawn chair and does some of the things he does. My vet wanted to see
Norman lift something other than the muck bucket so Norman performed
beautifully and lifted his vet bag and carried it all around while
everyone got their shots. He even got a bucket on command. My vet
thinks Norman should be on TV. I told him shhh. Norman probably would
love to be a big star in Hollywood but I like what we have here and
him all to ourselves.
Here are some recent donkey pictures of Chelsea riding Clyde and
Scout. They are wonderful with her. She started riding Clyde right
after Stanley got here and now she is riding all by herself. He is a
saint. She just sings and laughs and he goes wherever she wants. I
know he likes it because when are done, he likes to play with the
saddle pad and it is a riot. He throws it up in the air and shakes it
around.
Did I tell you the best thing we ever did was get Stanley for
Norman and Clyde? Well what happy ending here. He has added 10years to
Clyde's life. Not only does Clyde look better, but he has not been
lame or limping since Stanley came to NY. And he is almost standing
straight (I said almost).
I love the picture of the boys w/the halter. They sure were having
a good time running and teasing Chelsea with it. All she wanted to do
was start to groom Clyde and they were not going to let her have it
without a game of cat and mouse first.
Well that is enough bragging about my wonderful barn family.
Love,
Colleen
PS
I love Nora and Niki at my moms house. They are so cute and great with
my mother. She is growing very fond of them too. I knew she would.
